Little Black Dress is a campaign that raises awareness about poverty and hunger in our community. Anyone who participates in this week-long event (men and women) agrees to wear the same black outfit each day of the week (Aug. 20-24). This symbolizes what someone living in poverty might experience. Each participant will be provided with prompts to post about on social media each day of the week to continue to raise awareness.
Participants also wear a button that says, "Ask Me" designed to start a conversation about what we are doing. Proceeds benefit the Junior League's Kids in the Kitchen program, as well as supporting efforts to end food deserts and hunger in Peoria.
