Bryan O’Neal is a tax supervisor at RSM US LLP, providing tax compliance and consulting work for clients and serving as Tax Process & Technology champion for the Peoria office, ensuring all personnel have the proper training to utilize the firm’s technology resources.

An active member of the Central Chapter of the Illinois CPA Society, O’Neal served as co-chair of the Young Professionals and Student Outreach Committee from 2016 to 2018. As an Advisory Council member of the Emerging Philanthropists Fund, he is responsible for planning events and recruiting members to help make a lasting impact in the community. He is also active with the Young Professionals of Greater Peoria and is a 2018 graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School.

Three years ago, he and his wife adopted a son who has undergone major surgeries, tests and procedures due to a condition that requires specialized medical care. Having experienced this challenge firsthand, O’Neal is passionate about Family House, which provides accommodations for families of individuals receiving healthcare services in the Peoria area. He has served on the Family House Board of Directors since 2015 and was elected board president after just two years. He also created and chaired the Strategic Planning Committee, developing a plan to ensure the organization’s future success.

Earlier this year, O’Neal was selected for RSM’s “Pursue Your Passion” grant, awarded to just nine employees out of 9,000 nationwide. He chose to donate his winnings to Family House, which was able to renovate the guest lounge through his gift.

From 2005 to 2010, O’Neal served in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of sergeant at age 20 and leading Marines during two deployments to Iraq. On his second deployment, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. While studying for his master’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis, he co-founded a chapter of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and recruited student volunteers to assist low-income individuals with free tax preparation assistance. iBi
