For the past 16 years, Richard Pillman has worked for Advanced Technology Services in various capacities. In 2007, he was promoted to area business manager for the Eaton Corporation team, which is focused on ATS’ second-largest customer. In this role, Pillman is responsible for ensuring that his employees stay focused on safety while driving customer satisfaction. He plays a key role in the mentoring and development of over 70 employees and has responsibility for more than $7 million of revenue.

Consistently challenging his team, Pillman ensures that they have the necessary training and holds them accountable for their performance. His team has been incident-free for over three years and has one of the highest employee satisfaction rankings at ATS. Pillman recently became a Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional from the Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals, a nonprofit professional society dedicated to instilling excellence in all types of manufacturing and service organizations.

An avid volunteer and graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School, Pillman’s natural leadership skills have brought together groups of people to accomplish great things in the Peoria community. Most recently, he helped organize a fundraiser that raised the money to purchase new lights for the Kickapoo Township Baseball Park—and has since become an annual event.

Pillman is committed to helping researchers find a cure for childhood cancers, and has personally raised more than $70,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He has been a runner for the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run for the past nine years and volunteered for Wines on the Prairie and the Maui Jim Dive for Cover events.

Although his professional duties require a great deal of travel, Pillman has committed to attend the majority of his children’s sporting events. He serves as director of youth basketball for the Brimfield School District and is a volunteer coach for summer youth baseball and softball and JFL football.

Pillman has a true passion to develop and build future leaders. He does this at work and in the community, believing that he should pass down what he has learned from other great leaders who have made an impact on his life. Through his commitment to business growth, professional excellence and the community, Pillman is helping to shape the future of central Illinois. iBi
