Best of Peoria

Jessica Stephenson is passionate about reading… and she wants you to be, too! Her shop, Lit. On Fire Used Books, is a not-so-hidden gem on West Main Street—a neighborhood indie that doubles as a space for community events, hosting open mics, author spotlights and other bookish affairs. Established in 2015, Lit. On Fire has expanded numerous times, moving into its current storefront in the fall of 2017. It’s not easy running a small retail shop these days, but with hard work and devotion, Stephenson has been able to bring her passion to life—for which Peoria’s burgeoning literary community is quite grateful.
